Polyphonic choirs are part and parcel of people’s life from birth to the grave on Sardinia, and Actores Alidos gives this precious heritage a female voice. Lead by Valeria Pilia, the quintet sing lullabies, love charms, songs of faith or teasing a stuck-up suitor, with infectious joie de vivre. By arranging melodies typically sung by male choirs (tenores) to female voices; Actores Alidos keep heritage alive while adding their own touch, just as women make invaluable contributions to the islands communities.
