Story

Hearing Mónika Lakatos sing is an experience in its own league. Her powerful voice rises from a petite frame, taking Olah Gypsy melodies straight to the audience’s heart. This time she is accompanied Mazsi Rostás and 6 other fellow musicians, relying mostly on their voices to perform the music of their community. Mónika Lakatos just made a solo debut, her album Romanimo reaching fourth rank on World Music Charts Europe. At Budapest A Cappella Festival she sings more upbeat, rhythmic Roma songs like only she can.
